Natural Car Cleaner

Keep your car smelling fresh with this easy, natural DIY car air freshener using the essential oils of your choice.


Air Freshner

  • Pour 25 to 30 drops of essential oil in your bottle. Fill the bottle halfway with witch hazel. (Note: Witch hazel helps the oil and water combine and will help the scent linger for a longer period of time.) Fill the rest of the bottle with distilled water. Shake well. 
  • TIP: Add your favourite essential oil to a cotton pad and thoroughly wipe down the air vents

Window Cleaner

  • Add 4 ounces of witch hazel to a glass spray bottle along with 3 drops of your favourite essential oil. When it comes time to use it, shake well and spray onto windows, allowing it to sit for a few minutes before wiping with a piece of dry newspaper for a streak-free shine.

Lemon essential oil:

This makes it an ideal essential oil for car rides, as it can help you stay awake and mentally alert during long or early morning drives. It can also make your car smell fresher by deodorizing the interior. If you’ve had an unfortunate spill inside your car, or it just smells musty after a long time of use, eucalyptus oil can help you get your car to smell like new again.


If you are using essential oils for the first time, start with a small amount of the desired scent and gradually add more as you please.
